Uganda is a landlocked country located on the East African plateau and is known as the Pearl of Africa. In the southern part of the country a substantial portion of Lake Victoria is included and is shared by Tanzania and Kenya. The earliest people of this country were hunters. The country has substantial natural resources such as regular rainfall, fertile soil, mineral deposits of copper and cobalt and untapped reserves of crude oil and natural gas. Agriculture is given priority and coffee is its main export. Under the regime of Idi Amin, and the subsequent civil war, its economy was devastated. It took a long time for the country to limp back to normalcy.
