Trinidad and Tobago which lies in the Caribbean Sea is of the coast of Venezuela. Trinidad, larger than Tobago, is mainly flat and rolling with mountains in the north, while Tobago less than one-tenth the size of Trinidad is densely forested with hardwood trees.
The country has a parliamentary democratic government. A tropical country, the rains arrive in June and last through to December. The population is a mix of many ethnic groups like Indians, Africans, Chinese, European and others.
Its economy depends on trade and services, manufacturing, construction, agriculture, and oil and gas.
Oil and natural gas, fish and timer are its main natural resources. The High Commission of Canada is located in the Port of Spain.
