Korea is presently divided into two states, North Korea or the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and South Korea or the Republic of Korea. There is no Canadian Embassy in North Korea. South Korea maintains diplomatic relations with almost 200 countries and Canada is one of them. The Canadian Embassy in South Korea has its address in Seoul. Both these countries are enjoying positive relations and this positive relationship is growing as South Korea is an economic partner and like-minded ally in many multilateral forums. Trade between these two countries is robust. While Canada exports mineral fuels and oils, aluminum, mineral ores and wood pulp to South Korea, it gets from South Korea electronic and electrical equipment, vehicles, machinery and iron and steel.
